The Nigerian Army, working with other agencies, has captured 15 people believed to be supplying weapons and support to terrorists.
According to a statement from the Nigerian Army, the arrests were made on August 30 following intelligence reports on the suspects’ activities.
Army troops raided locations in Mararaba Donga and Manya village in Taraba State, targeting those who provide guns and logistics to terrorists.
The announcement mentioned that five individuals were detained, and a variety of weapons and ammunition were seized, such as three AK-47 rifles, two homemade rifles, two single-barrel guns, two traditional Dane guns, one rifle butt, 61 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, and eight live cartridges.
Additionally, they found two spare AK-47 rifle magazines, a holster for a pistol and a magazine, a pair of handcuffs, three knives, a police helmet, an axe, a point-of-sale (POS) machine, and ten mobile phones.
In Yobe state, three people who supplied logistics to Boko Haram were captured in Jimbal Village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area, while four others were detained in Rijana village in Chikun LGA of Kaduna state.
In Edo state, soldiers eliminated a kidnapper associated with a group causing trouble for travelers in the Ubia community. From this operation, they seized an AK-47 rifle, a semi-automatic pump-action gun, and 18 live bullets, according to the Army’s report.
