Date:

The Delta State Government has provided training to staff members of the Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (STOWASSA) from all 25 Local Government Areas of the state, focusing on urban and rural water supply management.

This was disclosed by STOWASSA’s General Manager, Mr. Unuafe Anthony, during a recent training session held in Asaba.

Anthony pointed out, “Water projects are becoming more advanced and they require high supervision and monitoring techniques, hence this training.

“This capacity building is for project supervisor, monitors, and technical staff for the ongoing sustainable Urban and Rural Water supply, Sanitation and Hygiene projects across the state to meet up the standard.

“The participants should take advantage of the training to learn, relearn, and also demonstrate the importance of updating knowledge and skills on recent developments in the water sector to boost performance and enhance productivity on the job.”

At the event, Mrs. D.A. Omitaye, representing Dr. Charles Diai, Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Water Resources Development, highlighted the importance of closely overseeing projects through supervision, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure improved service delivery outcomes.
