“Lead with your children” -Pro-Tinubu group tells sponsors of nationwide protests

Date:

Groups in Adamawa state who are against the nationwide protests over economic hardship have called on the protest leaders and sponsors to participate in the marches with their own children.

On the second day of the protests, on Friday, August 2nd, members of these pro-government groups held solidarity rallies in Adamawa, expressing support for President Bola Tinubu instead of joining the demonstrations against him.

The protesters carried signs accusing the organizers and financiers of the main protests of selfishness and insincerity, for directing the demonstrations from behind the scenes without directly taking part themselves.

One of the placards read: “Let those pushing for a forceful change of government lead the procession with their children.”

The pro-Tinubu groups in Adamawa said President Tinubu has done enough good for Nigeria and should remain president until 2031.

Their spokesman called for peace, acknowledging the government has implemented helpful programs, but stating that issues remain.

Spokesman of the pro-Tinubu groups, Abali Paul, stated, “We came out once again today to encourage Nigerians to keep the peace and to tell the state and the federal government that although they have indeed implemented programmes that benefit the people, issues remain.

“They should be quick in tackling the hunger and other issues that people are facing,” he added.
