9mobile: Fibre cuts caused network disruption… service partially restored

Date:

9Mobile, a telecommunications company, announced that multiple fibre cuts and infrastructure damage in various parts of the country are the cause of the recent network disruption.

In a statement released on Thursday, the company apologized to Nigerians for the service issues experienced nationwide. Customers have reported difficulties with making calls and accessing the internet since July 27.

“We understand the frustration and inconvenience this disruption has caused for our customers,” 9Mobile stated. “We feel your pain and know what this means for you. Your loyalty has been crucial to us, and we do not take it for granted.”

To address the issue, 9Mobile has set up a virtual situation room to take real-time reports from different locations, ensuring a hands-on approach to restore full service. “We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time and remain committed to delivering the high-quality service you expect from us,” the company added.

Service has been restored to most areas, with technical teams working around the clock to resolve any remaining issues. On July 28, 9Mobile announced a leadership change following LH Telecommunication Limited’s acquisition of a 95.5 percent stake in the company.
