A devastating fire outbreak at an LG Electronics office in Lagos has resulted in the loss of goods worth millions of naira. According to Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the incident occurred around midnight at Abule Osun, Trade Fair, Lagos.
LASEMA received distress calls at 12:15 am and promptly activated its emergency response plans. Upon arrival at the scene, the agency found a raging fire that had spread throughout the entire warehouse, affecting equipment, forklifts, household goods, and electronics.
Oke-Osanyintolu reported that LASEMA is working closely with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent structures. Despite the severity of the fire, no fatalities or injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but the joint response team is still actively engaged in combating the blaze. The effective collaboration of emergency responders has prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings, including a gas station, diesel tankers, and expatriate quarters.
