We are ready to work with Fubara – Rivers APC Chairman Emeka Beke announces

Date:

Emeka Beke, the reinstated Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, announced the party’s willingness to cooperate with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Beke conveyed this message during an appearance on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Tuesday, expressing that the APC, led by him, is open to working alongside Fubara if the governor offers an invitation for cooperation.

He stated, “I worked with Rotimi Amaechi and he is my leader, and he has no link with Fubara.

“If he extends a hand of fellowship to APC, we will work with him and develop the state. We can’t continue fighting; Rivers is going backwards.

“You can’t have two governors in one state, even if your own son is made governor, you should allow him to function.

“We have finished the politicking; it’s now time for governance.”

On Monday, the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt rejected the APC’s seven-member Caretaker Committee headed by Tony Okocha. Okocha is recognized as a close associate of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It is worth noting that Fubara and Wike have been engaged in a fierce battle for power since the governor took office.

The reported conflict is said to revolve around dominance over the state’s political framework.
