The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the resumption of publishing key economic reports, aimed at enhancing transparency, informed decision-making, and supporting economic growth. In a statement, CBN’s Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Sidi Ali Hakama, highlighted the importance of these reports in providing stakeholders with timely and accurate insights into Nigeria’s economic performance.
The reports, including the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), Business Expectation Survey (BES), Inflation Expectation Report, and other macroeconomic indicators, will be periodically released on the CBN website, making them easily accessible to the public. These reports offer valuable insights into the health of various sectors, business and household expectations, and perceptions, thereby fostering a more comprehensive understanding of Nigeria’s economic dynamics.
CBN reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability, encouraging economists, analysts, investors, media, and the general public to utilize these reports to promote a more inclusive economic discourse. The move marks a significant step towards enhancing data availability and transparency in Nigeria’s economic landscape.
