Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the President’s wife, announced that her Renewed Hope Initiative will provide a re-capitalisation grant to approximately 37,000 women nationwide.
During a symbolic food item presentation to Internally Displaced Persons with Disabilities and vulnerable individuals in Benue State on Thursday, Tinubu, represented by Vice President’s wife Mrs. Nana Shettima, revealed that 1,000 women from each state and the Federal Capital Territory will receive N50,000 grants as part of the RHI economic empowerment program.
She said, “I am pleased to inform you that the governing council of the Renewed Hope Initiative have graciously approved a business re-capitalisation grant of N50,000 for 1000 women petty traders in each state and the FCT to support their businesses as part of our renewed hope initiative for women economic programme.
“This programme will be launched on the 22nd of August simultaneously across the country.”
She said the programme was designed to provide support to the underprivileged in line with the resolve of President Tinubu to leave no one behind in ensuring food security and sufficiency in the country.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu encouraged recipients to utilize the donated items, explaining that the program involves donating a truckload of assorted food items for distribution to targeted groups in the state.
Earlier, Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, represented by Deputy Sam Ode, expressed gratitude to the President’s wife for supporting Benue women, particularly those with disabilities and vulnerable individuals.
The governor pledged to supplement the President’s wife’s efforts by expanding the distribution of items to the most vulnerable state residents.
Alia also praised the President as a “father and friend” of the state and commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for his ongoing support, noting that the state has greatly benefited from the Renewed Hope Initiative.
