Keyamo to aviation workers: Don’t go on strike, your demands will be considered

Date:

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has assured that the federal government will give due consideration to the demands of aviation workers, who are protesting the 50% deduction of internally generated revenue from agencies in the sector. The workers had threatened a one-day strike, arguing that the agencies are cost-recovery organizations that cannot survive on half of their revenue.

Keyamo acknowledged the workers’ concerns, stating that the government is committed to addressing the challenges facing the sector. He recognized the vital role of the aviation workforce in ensuring safety, efficiency, and smooth operations.

The minister assured the workers that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is keenly interested in improving the aviation sector and will work towards finding a lasting solution that balances the government’s fiscal needs with the operational requirements of the agencies.

Keyamo appealed to the workers to remain calm and maintain industrial peace while the government works towards a resolution. He expressed appreciation for their patience and understanding, reaffirming his commitment to creating a conducive work environment for all.
