Why a lot of women go for body enhancement” – Radio presenter Lolo1 reveals

Date:

Nigerian radio host and actor Lolo 1, whose real name is Omotunde Adebowale David, shared her insights on why many women opt for body enhancement procedures.

On her podcast “Say My Piece”, Lolo 1 discussed the prevalence of body enhancement surgeries among women, sharing her personal experience of being body-shamed for her large breasts during her youth.

She confessed that if financial means allowed, she would have considered breast reduction surgery to alleviate the negative attention and sexualization she faced, highlighting the emotional toll of societal pressure on women’s self-perception.

Lolo 1 emphasized that women who undergo body modification often do so due to feelings of insecurity and unresolved trauma, and suggested that societal pressure from men can significantly contribute to this decision, implying that the desire to meet traditional beauty standards or appease male gaze can drive women to alter their bodies.

“Whether you like it or not, it has become a norm; we are talking Body Enhancement. If I could have afforded it, I would have done breast reduction when I was younger because I had more boobs than girls my age at that time, and I didn’t see it as a symbol. Growing up, I got a lot of negative attention for it. Do you know how long I have been sexualized?

I can tell you that many of the women who do body modification feel insecure.

When you say a woman is insecure, it is always a response to some kind of trauma. The major part is men make you feel that way”.

Daddy Freeze expressed his disapproval of Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, comparing the resulting physique to a camel’s hump.

He questioned the benefits of the procedure, highlighting the risks and fatalities associated with it, and implied that the potential gains are not worth the dangers involved.

Dr. Aproko cautioned young women considering Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, highlighting the risks and potential dangers of the procedure, which he believes many approach without fully understanding.

Meanwhile, rapper Erigga criticized women who undergo BBL, suggesting that their motivation is to attract male attention and admiration, implying that the decision is driven by a desire for validation rather than self-empowerment.

Moreso, Veteran actor Kanayo Kanayo spoke out against Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, questioning the long-term benefits for women who undergo the procedure.

He wondered why husbands weren’t paying for their wives to get BBL, suggesting that the surgery is often associated with short-term relationships, and noting that many women who get BBL struggle to find lasting marriages.
