Popular Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has responded to the backlash he faced for his perceived diss towards Wizkid, which was sparked by Wizkid’s comment about Davido’s wedding.
Basketmouth had made a comment that was seen as a subtle jab at Wizkid, leading to criticism from some quarters. He has now addressed the issue, likely clarifying his intentions and defending his actions.
According to Naija Traffic, Wizkid sparked controversy by making a comment that seemed to throw shade at Davido and his fiancée Chioma.
Wizkid’s statement, which appeared to be a prayer for understanding women, was met with criticism from many who pointed out the hypocrisy, given that his own girlfriend and manager, Jada Pollock, is also a woman who deserves understanding.
“All of you here that have no sense of humor, you realize that, Basketmouth is a comedian and this is just a frivolous post. Even Wizkid will read this and laugh it off. Why take this kind of thing so seriously?”.
Moreso,Actress Didi Ekanem criticized Wizkid’s statement, saying the prayer would be more suitable for his own partner, Jada Pollock, who needs it more. She called Wizkid “childish” for his comment.
Sandra Iheuwa, Ubi Franklin’s babymama, also pointed out the hypocrisy in Wizkid’s shade towards Davido, as both artists have been guilty of similar behavior.
The two musicians have been feuding for months, with their controversy escalating to the point where they’re using their personal lives to diss each other.
Davido previously accused Wizkid of domestic abuse against Jada Pollock, while Wizkid mocked Davido for allegedly begging for sex from one of his side chicks.
Additionally, Wizkid ridiculed Davido’s launch of a meme coin, advising his fans to work smart and not hustle like a fool. The feud has been ongoing, with both artists trading insults and shades.
