Unified Payment Services Limited announced that its Payment Terminal Service Aggregator (PTSA) platform has started operations and will collaborate with stakeholders to enhance electronic payment transactions in Nigeria.
Group Managing Director, Mr. Agada Apochi, shared this news at a media briefing in Lagos regarding the launch of PTSA services by the company.
Apochi revealed that Unified Payments became the second PTSA in the country after receiving a license from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). He stated, “As a PTSA, our role is not to compete but to enable. We view ourselves as facilitators. Our PTSA platform is designed for everyone to collaborate and grow the payment service industry in Nigeria.”
He further explained, “As enablers, we will assist various industry operators and service providers in offering their services and solutions in compliance with CBN policies and regulations. We will support the government through the CBN by overseeing transactions at the PoS.
“We will also help the public manage various misconducts that are concerning both to the country and to individuals. Our focus is on collaboration without exceptions.
“There are only two PTSA in Nigeria. Since obtaining the license, we have been in discussions with the other Aggregator to identify areas of collaboration so we can work together to build a larger, safer, and more resilient ecosystem that meets the needs and aspirations of businesses using our services.”
