EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Limoblaze, born and raised in Abia State, Nigeria, was brought up in Makurdi, Benue State as one of eight siblings to Samuel and Nkechi Onwubiko.

His musical journey began at the age of 8 when he first discovered the music of legendary rappers like Tupac, Eminem, and 50 Cent.

However, it was his later exposure to Christian rap artists like Lecrae, the Ambassador, Andy Mineo, Da’ T.R.U.T.H., and Tedashii that truly influenced his path towards becoming a gospel artist.

Drawing inspiration from Afro gospel, Afrobeat, and Hip-hop gospel genres, Limoblaze started his pursuit of a Biochemistry degree at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria.

It was during this time that he became involved in the Day Star Church community, which played a significant role in his growth as a professional gospel musician.

CAREER

After completing high school, Limoblaze began his music career as an independent recording artist, starting with his debut track “Memories” dedicated to his classmates.

This marked the beginning of a series of releases, including songs like “Grace” and “Unconditional,” as well as collaborations with renowned gospel artists such as Ada Ehi, Travis Greene, and Da’ T.R.U.T.H.

During his musical journey, Limoblaze released albums such as “Blind,” “Before Now,” and “Afrobeats Raps & Jesus,” each showcasing his unique blend of genres.

One of his notable works includes a successful collaboration with Da’ T.R.U.T.H. on the album “Bridges,” which gained popularity on both local and international digital platforms.

In a significant achievement, Limoblaze joined the esteemed Christian Hip Hop label Reach Records in October 2022, becoming their first international artist to sign with them.

The release of his hit single “Jireh (My Provider)” featuring Lecrae and Happi further solidified his position in the industry, earning him a place on the Billboard Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Songs of 2022.

PERSONAL LIFE

In a heartwarming moment, Limoblaze got down on one knee and proposed to his beloved Favour in September 2021.

Their love story reached a beautiful milestone when they exchanged vows in a joyous celebration surrounded by family and friends in April 2022.
