A senior leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group, Ibn Kasir, along with two other militants, was eliminated by Nigerian Army units of OPHK Kai.
During an early morning operation today, on September 12, 2024, the troops carried out a raid in Sambisa Forest, resulting in the terrorists’ deaths.
This information was revealed by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist and security analyst in Lake Chad, through his X handle post on Thursday. While he is known for his reliable updates regarding military actions in the area, Zagazola mentioned that his sources in intelligence provided the details.
Acting on trustworthy intelligence, soldiers from the 21 Brigade, in collaboration with Hybrid forces, executed a swift and successful mission in Kashomeri village.
According to his post, he said, “Ibn Kasir, notorious for terrorizing the Geizuwa and Yale axis, had attempted to seek refuge with his family in Kashomeri.
“However, his hideout was identified, and he was neutralized alongside two of his lieutenants with one identified as Bulamadu. The operation occurred while his men were away on an assignment in Jalumeri.
“The neutralization of Ibn Kasir is a significant blow to the Boko Haram terrorists group.”
In his statement, he reported that the troops successfully rescued four women and children, and additional family members of the terrorists surrendered in Konduga.
