Nigerians have been alerted to expect thunderstorms and rainfall across the country for a three-day period starting from Monday, September 23, to Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
This advisory was issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Monday.
NiMet, in an official statement, indicated that the forecast anticipates morning thunderstorms on Monday in specific areas of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Borno States.
Furthermore, it highlighted that thunderstorms are expected later in the day in regions including Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Sokoto States.
Similarly, thunderstorms are expected during the morning hours in locations such as the FCT, Niger, Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara states.
These forecasts extend to numerous states nationwide.
Moreover, residents have been cautioned to avoid flood-prone regions and states, and to follow safety protocols and guidelines provided by the authorities.
