EFCC responds to the use of its operational accoutrements for creating skits

Date:

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) responded to the utilization of its operational equipment for creating skits.

This reaction from the EFCC was prompted by the resurgence of an old video titled “EFCC and Army Wahala” circulating on social media platforms.

In response, the commission has restated its previous caution to skit creators and other content producers to refrain from unauthorized and irresponsible use of the commission’s operational equipment.

The warning from the anti-graft agency was communicated through a post on its official social media handle on Monday morning.

According to the post, “EFCC and Army Wahala” is a caricature of the operational etiquette of the EFCC.

According to the post, “EFCC and Army Wahala” satirizes the operational practices of the EFCC.

“The shameful characterization of supposed operatives of the Commission in the video unleashing terror on “suspects”, is not only embarrassing but indicative of a deliberate attempt to cast shadows on the image of the EFCC.”

The organization clarified that its agents are not bullies, instead, they are trained as sophisticated modern law enforcement officers who uphold principles of decorum, politeness, and regard for the public, including individuals suspected of economic and financial offenses.

It added, “Skit makers are warned again to desist from unauthorized use of the accouterments of the commission.”
