Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele, born on January 5, 1985, better known as Oritse Femi, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and performer.
He gained significant fame for his rendition of Fela Kuti’s “Double Wahala,” which led to two nominations at the 2014 City People Entertainment Awards, where he won the title of Most Popular Song of the Year.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Oritsefemi was born into a polygamous family of 25 in Ajegunle, Lagos, as the third child of his mother. Although his family hails from the Itsekiri tribe in Delta State, he spent his early years in Ajegunle.
He began his education at Mayday Secondary School in Ikoyi but had to transfer to Tolu Primary School in Ajegunle due to financial difficulties.
He completed his elementary education at Army Children School and earned his secondary school certificate from Randle Secondary School.
Although he enrolled in Delta State University to study Law, his passion for music ultimately led him to drop out and pursue a full-time music career.
CAREER
Oritsefemi started his musical journey at a young age, participating in school choirs and performing at parties.
He even gained insights from Jamaican artists while attending a music school in Ajegunle.
Together with his friend Chibudo, he formed a group called “The Junglist Boys,” releasing two albums before they parted ways in 2006. Oritsefemi then embarked on a successful solo career.
His debut solo hit, “Flog Politician,” addressed corruption in Nigeria. Drawing from his personal experiences, he expressed the hardships of life in “Wicked World” and conveyed a message of hope through his song “Mercy of the Lord.”
He continued to release albums such as “Musical Taliban” and “Money Stops Nonsense,” collaborating with notable artists like Da Grin and teaming up with Davido for the track “Sexy Ladies” in 2014.
His rendition of Fela Kuti’s “Double Wahala” became immensely popular, resonating with the challenges faced by everyday people. He later titled his third album “Double Wahala.”

Oritse Femi was previously married to Nabila Fash, but he is currently single, with no reports of him being in a relationship at this time.
The couple got married in 2017 and welcomed a daughter named Patience Majemite Ekele.
However, Nabila announced their divorce in 2022 following allegations of Oritse Femi’s infidelity on multiple occasions.
