“I want to be the President of Nigeria” – Adeniyi Johnson cries out to God as he makes huge promise

Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has expressed his interest in becoming the next President of Nigeria.

To commemorate Nigeria’s 2024 Independence Day, Yoruba actor Adeniyi Johnson took to Instagram to express his presidential aspirations.

He shared photos of himself dressed in white, accompanied by a heartfelt plea to God to make him the country’s next leader, vowing to bring positive change and improvement.

“God, I’m not asking for too much, just the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I promise I’ll do well”.

In a surprising show of support, numerous fans and followers responded to Adeniyi Johnson’s post by offering prayers and well-wishes, fervently hoping that his aspiration to become Nigeria’s next President would be fulfilled.

Aside Yul Edochie, a Nollywood actor, had also considered running for president in the 2023 elections, but he later withdrew his bid after realizing his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), didn’t have the capacity to secure a presidential victory.

In recent years, the Nigerian entertainment industry has witnessed a significant shift with many Nollywood actors venturing into politics. Notable examples include Desmond Elliot, Hilda Dokubo, Caroline Danjuma, Funke Akindele, Tonto Dikeh, Banky W, and Rita Daniels, who have all taken the plunge into the world of politics.

Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo also took a significant step into politics in 2022 by announcing her candidacy for the House of Representatives, specifically representing Asalga/Akulga Federal Constituency under the Labour Party .

Caroline Danjuma, a renowned Nollywood actress and ex-wife of billionaire Musa Danjuma, has taken a significant step into politics. She’s been unveiled as the deputy governorship candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC) in Akwa Ibom, joining the growing list of celebrities venturing into politics.

Going on, Tonto Dikeh, a renowned Nollywood actress, had taken a bold step into politics by joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the running mate for governorship candidate Tonte Ibraye in Rivers State.

Furthermore, Banky W, a renowned singer and actor, also ventured into politics by running for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.
