The Presidency has expressed concern about the increasing tensions between Israel and Iran and has disclosed intentions to evacuate Nigerian nationals from Lebanon.
This decision comes after Iran fired numerous missiles at Israel in response to the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
The situation between Israel and Iran intensified recently, causing worry worldwide. Israel’s military representative, Daniel Hagari, has promised to respond to the “serious attack.”
The recent increase in tensions follows a prior incident in April when Iran sent more than 300 drones and missiles towards Israel.
On Tuesday, October 1, the Presidency advised Nigerians residing in Lebanon to get in touch with the Nigerian embassy for registration, paperwork, and eventual evacuation.
He said, “Alert! All Nigerians in Lebanon are expected to get in touch with the Nigerian mission for profiling and documentation and subsequent evacuation.”
Dada Olusegun, who is President Bola Tinubu’s social media adviser, shared this information in a tweet on Tuesday evening.
