On Instagram, Paulo Okoye sounded an alarm about Afrobeats’ current struggles, observing that the genre’s fortunes have dwindled significantly since its peak three years ago, with only a select few artists currently generating substantial income, while the majority are experiencing a decline in success.

Paulo Okoye lamented that the number of profitable Afrobeats artists can be counted on one hand, revealing a stark contrast to the genre’s former glory, with its global appeal waning and its local Nigerian market experiencing an even more severe decline.

Paulo Okoye offered a heartfelt blessing, wishing that the success and fame of Afrobeats artists would endure, and their careers would continue to thrive.
