Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has responded to recent reports about potential efforts to depose Ochi-Idoma Elaigwu Odogbo, expressing his views on the matter. The online platforms have been buzzing with speculations regarding the removal and replacement of the Ochi-Idoma due to his endorsement of the Alia administration.
During an event held at the Ochi-Idoma Square in the Otukpo local government area of Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia delivered a stern message to individuals involved in the alleged plot to oust Ochi-Idoma Elaigwu Odogbo.
Through his deputy, Sam Ode, who represented him at the event, the governor made it clear that he would not allow anyone to depose the paramount Idoma leader while he is in power, as such an action could lead to increased insecurity.
Distinguished individuals from the Idoma ethnic group in Benue State came together at the Ochi Idoma Square in Otukpo town to commemorate the progress of the kingdom and acknowledge various accomplishments. Among those present was Tor Tiv Orchivirigh James Ayatse, the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, who joined the Ochi Idoma and prominent Idoma figures in honoring select achievers.
The list of honorees included notable Nigerians such as Ode, the Commissioner for Finance, along with 16 others who were bestowed with titles as a mark of recognition for their contributions.
