Residents of Ikorodu have been affected by the flooding in Lagos, and media personality Daddy Freeze has engaged in a war of words with Mainlanders over the issue.
After Mainlanders mocked Island residents during Davido’s wedding week, Daddy Freeze pointed out that the flooding has now affected the Mainland as well, leaving many areas of Lagos underwater.
He called out the Mainlanders for their earlier mockery, noting that the situation has now turned around and they are facing similar challenges.
“Mainland too is flooded. Shebi dem dey laugh for Island. Now na their turn”.
A fan of his, identified as Owolabi Anifowose, responding to his post, countered him as he noted how Ikorodu isn’t flooded.
“Ikorodu is not flooded o”.
Daddy Freeze retaliated by making a comment that implied Ikorodu is an undesirable place to live, even in good weather conditions, saying that no one would willingly choose to reside there, regardless of whether it’s flooded or not.
“Don’t worry, no one wants to live there even if it’s dry”.
In his caption, he added, “This life is turn by turn”.

A long-standing rivalry has been existing between Mainlanders and Islanders in Lagos, with various celebrities weighing in on the debate.
Anita Joseph defended Mainland living, preferring Omole Phase 1 to the Island due to her husband and the high caliber of residents.
In contrast, Moet Abebe stated she wouldn’t date a Mainland resident, citing standards.
Tolani Baj was more open-minded, willing to date a Mainlander if he was willing to accommodate her needs.
Doyin, a BBNaija star, also expressed her preference for Island living, stating that any potential partner would need to relocate to the Island to be with her, otherwise, they should find a Mainland partner.
These statements highlight the ongoing divide and biases between Mainlanders and Islanders.
