‘It’s an inheritance mentality for someone to send you money and you reply with ‘Seen’ – Kanayo .O. Kanayo

Date:

Nollywood star Kanayo Kanayo has spoken out about Nigerians who feel entitled and fail to show gratitude.

In a post on his Instagram account, he expressed his confusion about people’s lack of gratitude.

He couldn’t understand why someone would send money to another person, only to receive a brief response saying “Seen”.

He referred to this behavior as an entitled mindset, emphasizing that not expressing gratitude is essentially expressing ingratitude.

He wanted Nigerians to understand that they don’t have a right to be given money by others and urged them to show appreciation instead.

“Why are people so ungrateful? You do them a favour by sending them money, and the person receives it and sends you a text saying ‘seen’. Common, you think it is your right? That’s an inheritance mentality. See, gratitude unspoken is ingratitude spoken. It isn’t your right; learn to be grateful for whatever anyone does for you. In that way, the person would do more”.

Oluchukwu commented, “Appreciation is the secret of elevation. Do it, and thank me more”.

One, Hito Delights commented, “Deep. A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles”.

Another person, Ped4real commented, “Odiegwu. The level of entitlement in our society is weird”.

And, Monday, Sinclair commented, “Pøor people and pride are 5&6″.

Also, King_Jsg commented, “Don’t mind them, sir. They have sacrificed their gratitude for pride”.

Mr Elvis Kobi commented, “It’s pride mixed with jealousy and insecurities. Some can’t believe you’re the one bailing them out, and they rather wanna trade places”.

Kanayo Kanayo is not the sole celebrity who has spoken about entitled Nigerians.

Yul Edochie also conveyed a message to entitled family members, friends, and fans in March, emphasizing that no one is obligated to owe anyone anything and that individuals are only entitled to the money they earn through their own efforts.

Likewise, Woli Arole, a Nigerian comedian turned prophet, made an appeal to Nigerians on behalf of those residing abroad, urging them to show appreciation.

He pointed out that individuals working overseas cannot constantly send money as they are overworking themselves.
