EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Davido, a highly successful singer, was born and brought up in Atlanta, Georgia, in the USA, but his roots trace back to Osun State, located in the Southwest region of Nigeria.
He received his education at the British International School in Lagos, Nigeria. Davido went to the US at 16 to study business administration at Oakwood University in Alabama.
But he left the university to focus on his music career and moved to London. In 2011, he came back to Nigeria and followed his father’s advice to enroll at Babcock University.
He completed his degree in music at Babcock University in July 2015, with his father paying the institution to establish a music department for him as the only student in the first class.
FAMILY
He was born into the family of Adedeji Adeleke, a businessman, and Vero Adeleke, who worked as a university lecturer in Osun State. Being the youngest among his five siblings, Davido is the second son of his father.
CAREER
Davido gained popularity in 2012 when he released the single “Dami Duro” from his first album “Omo Baba Olowo.” This song earned him the Next Rated award at The Headies.
In January 2016, he signed a contract with Sony Music and later established his own record label called Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), which includes artists such as Dremo, Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Liya.
Additionally, in July 2016, Davido signed another record deal with Sony’s RCA Records and released an EP titled “Son of Mercy” in October of the same year.
Davido’s second album, A Good Time, was released in November 2019 and included the popular single “Blow My Mind” featuring Chris Brown.
In May 2020, Davido announced his third album, A Better Time, which consists of 11 tracks and features guest appearances from Nicki Minaj and Tiwa Savage.
In June 2014, Davido collaborated with Lola Rae, Mi Casa, Tiwa Savage, and Diamond Platnumz to record a song for the “Africa Rising” campaign.
The song inspired his fellow countrymen to participate in a community social investment project. Davido has endorsement deals with Infinix Mobile and MTN.

Davido’s ex-girlfriend, Sophia Momodu, gave birth to his first child, Aurora Imade Adeleke, on May 14, 2015.
Davido has a total of six children, consisting of three boys and three girls. Unfortunately, one of his sons passed away.
In March 2023, the singer confirmed his marriage to his partner Chioma Rowland.
On June 25, 2024, Davido and his long-term partner tied the knot at Harbour Point in Victoria Island, Lagos.
