Some internet users have slammed Daddy Freeze, a media personality and former radio presenter, for boasting about the expensive watches he owns despite being fined N5 million for adultery.
In 2021, a High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, ordered Daddy Freeze to pay the fine for having an affair with Benedicta Elechi, who was married to Paul Odekina at the time.
Dissatisfied with the court’s decision, Daddy Freeze appealed to a higher court, arguing that Odekina did not personally serve him with the legal documents.
However, after three years of legal proceedings, the appellate court dismissed Daddy Freeze’s appeal, stating that he should have filed a counter-affidavit and sought to overturn the trial court’s judgment if he believed he was not properly served.
In response to the situation during an Instagram live video, Daddy Freeze expressed that he had no issue with paying a fine of N5 million, as the value of his watches alone exceeds N100 million.
However, he emphasized his innocence and his determination not to lose. He explained that the incident occurred several years ago when he and the lady involved were both going through difficult times, and they reconnected in church later on.
His remarks received criticism from many individuals who disapproved of his behavior and accused him of boasting.

They separated in 2014 and both accused each other of committing adultery and domestic violence.
Daddy Freeze moved on from Opeyemi and married Benedicta Elechi, who was previously divorced and has a son.
The couple had a private wedding in the UK in 2022, attended by their close friends and family.
When discussing his divorce, Daddy Freeze sees it as a hidden success because it allowed him to free himself from a toxic situation.
