Presidency expresses concern over alleged plots

Date:

The Nigerian Presidency has expressed concerns about potential plots to disrupt the country, alerting the public to the existence of malicious forces intent on causing chaos and destruction.

Dada Olusegun, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, took to social media to accuse the individuals responsible for the plots of spreading lies and trying to tarnish the reputation of government officials.

Olusegun highlighted the case of Governor Zulum’s son, who was wrongly accused of murder and subsequently faced criticism for his proficiency in English when he denied the allegations.

They want to burn the country down,” Olusegun cautioned.

“Our fiduciary responsibility is to stop them!”

This recent alert comes after an earlier caution from Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, who accused supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023, of orchestrating planned protests throughout the nation.

Onanuga alleged that the individuals who were responsible for instigating the damaging ENDSARS protest in 2020 are now plotting to organize nationwide protests using the slogans “EndBadGovernance” and “Tinubu Must Go” as their guise.

The Presidency has labeled the protesters as “anarchists” and “sore losers” who are impatient for the next election in 2027. Onanuga cautioned that their actions could be considered as a serious betrayal of the country and urged security agencies to question those implicated.

According to reports, there are plans for a 10-day protest starting on August 1st, during which Nigerians will mobilize on the streets to demand improved living conditions and an end to economic difficulties.
