Former Senate President Pius Anyim met with President Bola Tinubu after switching from the PDP to the APC. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who serves as the chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, introduced Anyim to the President.
Uzodimma commended the administration for its backing of the South East region, expressing gratitude on behalf of the South East Governors Forum for the President’s initiatives. He highlighted that the APC’s actions have resulted in notable progress within the region.
He stated,, “This is a new dawn and many people have agreed that the President administration is doing very well.”
In the meantime, Anyim reiterated his dedication to Nigeria’s advancement and emphasized the importance of a united approach to propel the nation forward.
He switched allegiance to the APC along with numerous followers, such as former Senator Obinna Ogba, Chief Edward Nkwegu from the Labour Party, former representatives from the National and State Assemblies, and Chairpersons from Local Government Areas. The defection happened at the end of the APC’s campaign for the Local Government Area elections in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
