The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has instructed jet operators with permits for noncommercial flights (PNCF) to submit their technical logs by August 2.
A technical log is a document airlines use to record defects and malfunctions found during aircraft operations and details of maintenance performed between scheduled base maintenance visits.
In a statement on Monday, signed by Oyerinde Modupe, NCAA General Manager of Facilitation and Economic Regulation, the authority warned that failure to comply with this directive would lead to the suspension of operating authorization for jet operators.
“This is a follow-up to previous correspondence from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) regarding the submission of your technical log for the past two years,” the statement said.
“The authority has yet to receive the required documents from you.
“Therefore, in accordance with part (g) of the conditions attached to your permit, you are reminded to forward to the NCAA the technical log information of your operations for the last two years by completing the summary sheet with details of the number of sectors flown per month per aircraft as indicated in the attached PNCF Operations Tech Log Form.
“Please note that the format for submission of the requested information should either be electronic completion of the PNCF Tech Log Form or scanned copies of the required tech log information sent to datrlicensingunit@ncaa.gov.ng. For further inquiries, you can contact the authority at +2348039588761.”
On July 5, the NCAA announced the suspension of 10 private jet operators for failing to undergo a recertification process.
