The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has created a new programme called Fintiri Business Wallet initiative, which is aimed at empowering 60,000 women and youths in the state.
The total sum involved is N3 billion and it is aimed at assisting the residents of the state with financial support to develop the economic growth of the state.
It was during the meeting with the stakeholders from Hong Local Government Area at the Government House in Yola that he made the initiative public.
He further noted that the programme will commence from now to December 2024.
While addressing the issue of the increment in salaries, he clarified the applicaion of PAYE (Pay As You Earn) tax, indicating that the standard deductions from the payments have restarted after being paused for two weeks during the implementation of the new minimum wage.
In the meeting, a request indicating the establishment of Hoba chiefdom was presented which the Governor promised the stakeholders to review and evaluate it.
