EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Allen Ifechukwu Onyema was born in March 1964 in Benin City as the oldest of nine siblings to Michael and Helen Onyema. He hails from Mbosi in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.
He began his legal education at the University of Ibadan, where he earned his degree in 1987. Following that, he attended the Nigerian Law School and was admitted to the Bar in 1989.
Allen’s educational journey began at Government College in Ughelli, Delta State, where he earned his Higher School Certificate before enrolling in the esteemed University of Ibadan to study law in 1984.
CAREER
While at the University of Ibadan, Allen showed his dedication to peace by leading a group of students to help resolve a religious and ethnic conflict in Zaria, ultimately saving lives.
This experience ignited his passion for promoting harmony among Nigeria’s various ethnic groups, which led him to create the Eminent Friends’ Group, aimed at fostering ethnic unity and preventing violence.
After his graduation in 1987, the group grew to have branches across all states in the country.
During his time at the Nigerian Law School, Allen continued his advocacy for peace and social issues in Nigeria.
In 2013, he established Air Peace Limited, a prominent airline in Nigeria, showcasing his commitment to excellence and innovation in the aviation sector.
PERSONAL LIFE
At the age of 27, Allen Ifechukwu Onyema married the love of his life, Alice Ojochide Onyema, who is from Kogi State and belongs to the Igala ethnic group.
