Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a notable member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has openly criticized President Bola Tinubu for not mentioning Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike in his recent comments about the disturbances in Rivers State.
After violent incidents following local elections, Tinubu denounced the burning of government offices and called for police involvement. However, Eze finds it concerning that Wike, who is considered a significant figure in the conflict, was not directly acknowledged.
Eze commended Tinubu’s actions but expressed dissatisfaction that Wike, who plays a crucial role in the crisis, was not specifically mentioned.
He said, “But calling on Governor Fubara without mentioning Wike and his loyalists is unacceptable.”

He expressed concern that not issuing a clear directive to identify the masterminds is troubling, and he called on the Rivers State government to investigate and apprehend those fueling the disorder.
Eze also encouraged Wike to adopt a more peaceful approach, citing the actions of other political leaders as examples to follow.
He criticized the security situation in Rivers State, arguing that the timing of the police withdrawal after a prolonged presence was poorly chosen. Eze concluded by emphasizing the importance of holding the culprits accountable and taking action to restore peace in the state.
