The Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) has conveyed its approval of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration’s performance.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who leads the forum, additionally expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, would achieve a decisive victory in the upcoming Edo State governorship poll scheduled for September.
Uzodimma made these remarks to the press at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja yesterday following a meeting between forum members and the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Uzodimma acknowledged the difficulties faced by Nigerians and expressed confidence in the APC’s ability to win in Edo State. He revealed that the governors, along with other party members, would visit Benin on July 20 to kickstart their campaign to oust the ruling PDP.
He stated, “Which other party can provide or boast of such asset, politically speaking. So, we don’t need to over-flog the horse, the truth of the matter is that APC has done very well in Nigeria.
“What is happening currently is a global economic problem. We in Nigeria under our own leadership, President Tinubu, is also bringing out policies to ensure, given the kind of economy he met, that Nigeria comes out of the woods and I am confident that very soon Nigerians will be jubilant about how he has managed to navigate the waters.”
