Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo state, has expressed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level has recognized the marginalization of the southeast geopolitical zone in the overall scheme of affairs.
During the APC southeast stakeholders’ meeting held in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi state, Governor Hope Uzodimma assured party members that steps would be taken to address the marginalization of the southeast zone. He pledged that the party would initiate the necessary measures to alleviate the region’s marginalized status.
Governor Hope Uzodimma expressed his gratitude to the national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, for launching a program to address the marginalization of the Igbo people. He requested the support of the people in achieving the goals of this program.
He stated, “I want to thank our national chairman for the program of de-marginalization of Ndi Igbo.
“The beauty of this program is that the national leadership has acknowledged that we are being marginalized, and they have taken it upon themselves to de-marginalize us.
“All we are asking for now is your support and cooperation,” he added.
The governor emphasized the importance of unity among party members in the southeast zone, highlighting that progress cannot be achieved without a shared sense of purpose. In response, Ganduje reaffirmed and validated the governor’s stance, assuring that efforts to de-marginalize the zone are actively underway.
