Senator Shehu Umar Buba from Bauchi South, a member of the APC, has denied accusations of backing banditry, calling them false and harmful.
It is been reported that these claims were made by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed from the PDP in a formal letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Mohammed said Senator Buba helped a suspected bandit and someone else register for Hajj through an aide named Yahaya Ibrahim. Senator Buba denied having any aide by that name.
In a statement from his assistant, Hassan Gajin Duguri, Senator Buba accused the Governor of starting a conflict against those who criticize his way of leading.
“The Governor’s sinister intentions cannot halt the winds of change gathering strength in Bauchi; his days of unethical actions are numbered.”
This incident marks the most recent episode in the ongoing political feud between Senator Buba and Governor Mohammed.
Earlier, Senator Buba was removed from his traditional title of ‘Majidadin by the Bauchi Emirate Council due to allegations of showing disrespect and publicly shaming Governor Mohammed.
