Bauchi First Lady Launches Health Insurance, cash Transfer Program

Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, the First Lady of Bauchi State, recently launched a groundbreaking health insurance and cash transfer scheme, a pivotal initiative of the Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award & (ICHSSA-4) project, designed to benefit the people of Bauchi State.

Speaking at the launch, she emphasized that this program marks a significant step forward in empowering communities and driving positive change.

“My dedication has always been to enhance healthcare services and the welfare of our people especially the vulnerable and undeserved.

“The ICHSSA-4 project aligns perfectly with this commitment, and I am privileged to partake in an event that signifies a transformative leap toward building a more resilient and empowered community.”

Today marks a pivotal moment for the 955 beneficiaries of the Cash Transfer Scheme and 3,283 Health Insurance Scheme recipients. Your lives are about to take a remarkable turn for the better.

This support is a testament to the faith in your potential, strength, and capacity to create a brighter future. This event represents more than just financial aid; it’s an opportunity to unlock your potential, nurture your talents, and cultivate sustainable growth.

“My heartfelt appreciation extends to USAID, Pro-Health International, Catholic Relief Services. the ICHSSA-4 project, other USAID implementing partners, and all CSOs implementing the ICHSSA-4 project in Bauchi State.

“Your unwavering dedication to our people’s well-being is commendable, and I am confident that the positive impact of today’s initiatives will resonate for years to come.”

Further speaking, the State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau appreciated the Health Insurance and Start-up Kits distribution under the USAID Integrated Child Health and Social Services Project saying,”This initiative marks a significant milestone in our collective effort to suppor vulnerable household, particularly those affected by HIV in Bauchi State.”

Represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Engr Barde, the Deputy Governor stated that, “We are here not just to launch a program, but to uplift lives, restore hope, and empower families. The provision of health insurance is a crucial step in ensuring that our most vulnerable citizens can access the healthcare they need without the burden of financial strain. By removing these barriers, we are paving the way for healthier society and brighter future.”

According to him,”The vocational skills training and start-up kits that will accompany this health insurance are equally vital. It represent an opportunity for self-sufficiency and resilience, enabling individuals to create sustainable livelihoods.
