“Boko Haram has infiltrated IDP camps in Borno” – Gov Zulum

Date:

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, is very worried about Boko Haram militants sneaking into camps where people who have been forced to leave their homes are staying.

He says these terrorists are hiding in the camps after attacking people. While speaking at the relocation of 3,800 displaced individuals in Konduga Local Government Area, Zulum highlighted the increasing danger of insurgents mixing in with displaced people.

He asked the Nigerian Army and other security forces to act quickly to make sure the camps are safe and to safeguard the vulnerable people living there.

Zulum stated, “We can not tolerate this anymore. Boko Haram insurgents have infiltrated IDP camps, committing atrocities and perpetuating insecurity.”

The Governor also talked about problems like drug use and prostitution, especially among young girls, in the camps. He said these issues were going against the traditional values of the state.

Zulum said he would reconstruct various communities, like Awulari village in Konduga, and build 500 homes in Sandiya communities before the next rainy season.

He also gave money and items to those coming back to help them start over, but he warned them not to sell the things they were given.
