Celebrities storm late Actor Mr Ibu’s Night of Tribute in Enugu

Family members, colleagues, fans, and the lovers, of the late veteran actor John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, gathered on Wednesday, June 26th, to honor and remember him.

In March, it was reported that the actor, who had been battling health issues for months, had passed away.

The news was initially shared by a healthcare worker, who stated that the actor had passed away.

The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria later confirmed the news, revealing that he died from Cardiac Arrest.

His death deeply saddened the industry as he was loved by many and had left a lasting impact on our childhoods.

On Wednesday, a night of tribute was held for the late actor, attended by many of his colleagues.

Photos circulating online captured the actor’s wife and children looking somber as they said their final goodbyes to their father.

Mr Ibu had previously appealed to the public for assistance in October of last year when he was struggling with an illness.

Notable music artists Davido and P-Square, along with popular personality Tunde Ednut, and former senate president Bukola Saraki came to his aid.

During his ordeal, the actor underwent seven successful surgeries and had his leg amputated twice.

Unfortunately, his health worsened at one point, leading to the loss of his voice.

In January, he was released from the hospital, which brought excitement to his fans and supporters. However, their happiness was short-lived as he passed away two months later.
