Court orders CBN monthly allocations to Governor Fubara

The judge stated that Fubara’s action of implementing a budget that violated the 1999 constitution.

On Wednesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja prevented Central Bank of Nigeria from releasing monthly financial allocations to Rivers State.

Reports have it that News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) discovered that order from Federal High Court has affected Zenith Bank, Access Bank, Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF).

In a judgement, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik stated that the handling of monthly allocations since January 2024 by Gov. Siminalayi Fubara is unconstitutional.

The judge stated that Fubara’s actions is breaching the laws of 1999 constitution which he swore to protect.

She ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria, Accountant-General of the Federation, Zenith Bank and Access Bank to permit Fubara to access money from the Consolidated Revenue and Federation Account.
