Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has broken her silence, addressing those inquiring about the father of her newly born son.
Last Monday, it was reported that Dayo Amusa had given birth to a baby boy named Oluwafirewamiri. Sharing her joy, Dayo expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, thrilled to have finally become a mother and welcoming her precious “treasure”.
Yesterday, November 26th, Dayo Amusa held a naming ceremony for her newborn son, with several colleagues in attendance, including Fali Werepe, Omowunmi Ajiboye, Damola Olatunji, Iyabo Ojo, and Tope Osoba.
The naming ceremony clips sparked curiosity, as the father of Dayo Amusa’s son was noticeably absent, prompting a flurry of questions from fans and followers.
In a live session, Dayo Amusa responded to critics inquiring about the father of her child, asking if their husbands were missing or if they were conducting a census. She also stated that it’s not obligatory for people to congratulate her.
Dayo Amusa shared her delight at becoming a new mother, expressing joy in being called by a new title, “someone’s mother”.
“Please is your husband missing? Or are you counting the census of husbands, and you were told that your husband is with me; hence, you are asking for the father of my child? Don’t waste your time looking for my kid’s father, there are certain things you can’t have satisfaction for”.
The arrival of Dayo Amusa’s son has effectively silenced the false and hurtful narratives surrounding her. For years, the Yoruba actress faced online ridicule due to her inability to have a child. In response, she had placed strong curses on those who mocked her for being childless, as well as for her support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign and her criticism of Iyabo Ojo for not backing him.
In April, Dayo Amusa shared a candid post about embracing independence and singleness. She revealed her reasons for remaining single and independent, while also expressing her desire to be cared for and pampered by a partner.
Dayo Amusa also shared her insights on marriage, pointing out that many people mistakenly believe it will alleviate their loneliness, resulting in unrealistic expectations. Advocating for self-love, she stressed that marriage isn’t suitable for everyone and should not be rushed into.
Dayo Amusa previously opened up about her past experience in an abusive relationship that nearly destroyed her life. She explained that she struggled to leave the relationship because of her “fixer” mentality, until she realized the impossibility of repairing something irreparably broken, likening it to a broken egg. Amusa revealed that she often attracted emotionally unavailable men, narcissists, and others because she mistakenly believed she could save them.
