In Utagba-Ogbe (Kwale) community in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, the council has declared 12 hour curfew from 6:00pm to 6:00am daily due to security threats.
This is to help protect lives and properties of people due to the high rate of kidnapping and robbery in the community lately.
It was during the security meeting that was summoned by council’s security committee. The committee also planned to impose curfew across the entire Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom.
The Secretary of Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Chief Sunday Enu, pleaded with the residents to comply with the rules that have been established to secure lives and properties.
He said, “This is a necessary step to address the current security challenges. The council is working closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of our people.”
When they contacted the Delta State Police Command spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe said, “The state Police command is not aware of any curfew”.
