EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Sidney Onoriode Esiri, also known as DR SID, was born on May 1, 1980, in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.
He completed his secondary education at the Nigerian Airforce Secondary School in Ikeja and then pursued a degree in dental surgery at the University of Ibadan.
After successfully completing his studies, he became a certified dentist.
CAREER
While working at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and serving in the National Youth Service Corps in Yola, Adamawa State, DR SID remained dedicated to his passion for music.
In 2007, he made the bold decision to leave his dental practice and fully commit to his music career.
He signed a contract with Mo Hit Records, led by Don Jazzy.
DR SID achieved a significant milestone in 2010 with the release of his first studio album, Turning Point, under Mo Hits Records and Don Jazzy.
The album included popular songs like “Something About You” and “Pop Something” and enjoyed great success. The track “Over The Moon” particularly dominated the Nigerian music charts at that time.
