DSS refute claims of invading NLC headquarters in Abuja

Date:

The Department of State Security (DSS) refuted claims of raiding the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) headquarters in Abuja. This denial was communicated on X on Thursday, September 8, 2024.

In a brief statement, the DSS clarified, stating, ”Please kindly note that the Service (DSS) did not carry out any operation at the NLC office in Abuja.”

It is worth noting that the NLC had previously accused uniformed and plainclothes armed security personnel of invading their headquarters on Wednesday, September 7, 2024.

It should be noted that the NLC claimed that armed security personnel, both in uniform and plainclothes, stormed its headquarters on Wednesday, September 7, 2024.

The NLC wrote on its X page, ”They broke into the second floor and ransacked books at the bookshop carrying all the materials into their van and claiming that the materials were used to incite and organise the recent protests.”
