On Thursday, the court case against former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello was delayed after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to bring him before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Bello was meant to charged to court on a separate 19-count charge of money laundering valued at N82 billion after he was charged to prison by the FCT High Court on a 16-count charge valued at N110.4 billion.
Sources revealed that the matter could not proceed because of the inability to file the necessary papers.
On October 30, the presiding judge, Justice Emeka Nwite fixed January 21, 2025, for the arraignment of the case at the Supreme Court.
The EFCC lawyers and security were asked to withdraw around midday.
