On Thursday afternoon, a rare sight unfolded in Jalingo as a group of children aged 8-13 and youths took to the streets to protest the prevailing difficulties they are facing.
The young protesters marched along the popular Hamaruwa Way, proceeding towards the flyover bridge, a prominent landmark in the city.
As they walked, the children chanted “Bamu ai, bamu ai,” which translates to “We don’t agree, we don’t agree,” in an effort to draw attention to the challenges they are experiencing.
The group of protesters, consisting primarily of children and teenagers, were outspoken and impassioned as they voiced their grievances and called for immediate action to address the difficulties and challenges they were facing. They took to the streets to make their voices heard and demand that steps be taken to ease their suffering and improve their circumstances.
According to our correspondent who observed the developments, the protesters were closely monitored by personnel from both the police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as they made their voices heard.
