Portable, a Nigerian singer known for his controversy, has received admiration from his fans for taking initiative to repair a road in Sango-Ota.
The popular street singer, took to Instagram to share a video of himself hiring a tractor to repair the poor roads in Sango-Ota, motivated by his plans to purchase a new, high-end vehicle he refers to as a “presidential motor”.
Concerned that Nigeria’s bad roads would damage his new car, which would be difficult and costly to repair due to its imported nature, Portable decided to take matters into his own hands, citing his financial ability as the reason behind his actions.
He also referenced past efforts to address the issue, including when he acquired his G-Wagon, but had to stop due to unspecified reasons.
“Presidential motor. I have graded the road. My American motor mustn’t spoil because its mechanic isn’t available in Nigeria. If it spoils, who will repair it? It is a bad thing for Nigerian roads to spoil American motors. That’s why I have graded the road; I and others are doing it.
It’s because I have money; that’s why I can repair the road. Although I used to repair the roads, I stopped. When I bought my G-wagon, I stopped. Now, I want to buy a presidential motor, and I have to repair the road”.
Portable’s fans flooded his comment section with praise, acknowledging the significance of his initiative, while others raised questions about whether he obtained the necessary permits and approvals from the relevant authorities before embarking on the road repair project.

Previously, Portable had publicly criticized Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun after a near-fatal experience on a potholed road in Sango-Ota, demanding that the governor step down if he couldn’t address the issue. He even suggested that Yayi would be a better replacement.
Following this, Portable claimed to have received N2 million as compensation and stated that the governor had promised to fix the roads.
To verify this promise, Portable visited the Atan-Lusada-Agabara road project and expressed his approval of the government’s efforts, acknowledging that progress was being made.
