According to a statement from SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, details have been disclosed regarding the fire incident at Imani roundabout in Maitama on September 23, 2024.
The outbreak occurred due to a collision between a tanker bearing Reg No. T20 146 LA, which was fully laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), and a Toyota Sienna space bus at the roundabout around 7:50 p.m.
SP Adeh stated that the police promptly deployed patrol teams from Maitama, Wuse, and Central Police Station, along with personnel from the Federal Fire Service, to the location to potentially rescue individuals and put out the flames.
She confirmed that there were no fatalities, but three people involved are: Idris Mohammed, Suleiman Gimba, and Adamu Isiayku, sustained injuries and were swiftly taken to Maitama district hospital for medical treatment.
She added, “The situation is now under control as the combined efforts of the Police and Fire service personnel was enough to curtail and extinguish the fire.”
