FG Committed To Supporting Healthcare Workers Says- Minister

Date:

Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, has pledged the Federal Government’s support for creating an enabling environment that empowers healthcare professionals to excel, innovate, and leave a lasting legacy.

During his meeting with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas in California, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to driving meaningful change in the health sector.

This promise was reinforced by the announcement that Nigeria will host the ANPA conference in 2025, a testament to the government’s dedication to transforming the healthcare landscape under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

He highlighted, “The new government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is steadfast in its resolve to bring about transformative changes within the healthcare sector. We understand that a robust healthcare system is fundamental to the nation’s development, and we are committed to implementing policies that ensure accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for every Nigerian. Central to this vision is the invaluable role of our professionals in the diaspora, especially ANPA.

“Your expertise, knowledge, and experience are crucial in bridging the gaps and addressing the challenges that our healthcare system faces. We are keenly aware of the remarkable strides you have made in various specialties and the innovative solutions you have championed in your respective fields. Your achievements are a testament to the potential that exists within our nation, and we are eager to harness this potential for the greater good of our people.

“We recognize the challenges that exist, but we are undeterred. Our focus is on creating a conducive environment where healthcare professionals can thrive, innovate, and make a lasting impact. This includes investments in infrastructure, technology, and education to ensure that our healthcare facilities are equipped to meet the demands of a growing population.”

By hosting the ANPA conference in 2025, the government demonstrates its dedication to collaborating with global partners, embracing innovative solutions, and creating opportunities for Nigerian healthcare professionals to excel both domestically and internationally, thereby acknowledging ANPA’s contributions to enhancing healthcare standards.

He noted, “As we prepare to welcome you to Nigeria in 2025, we are also mindful of the importance of building a resilient healthcare workforce.

We are committed to supporting the professional development of our healthcare workers through continuous education and training opportunities. Your expertise and mentorship will be invaluable in this regard, helping to nurture the next generation of Nigerian healthcare professionals.

“My dear colleagues, the future of healthcare in Nigeria is bright, and it is a future that we are building together. Your Commitment, passion, and unwavering dedication to the health and well-being of Nigerians inspire us all. We are immensely proud of the work you do, and we look forward to strengthening our collaboration in the years to come.

“Let me conclude by saying I look forward to participating fully in this conference, being a member of ANPA myself, but also very excited about the upcoming 2025 ANPA Conference in Nigeria and the opportunities it will bring. Together, we will forge a path toward a healthier, more prosperous Nigeria.”
