Matrix Fertilizer Ltd, a fertilizer company, has generously donated a fully equipped clinic to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Dumbi, Zaria, with the commitment to provide complimentary medical care to road accident victims.
This philanthropic effort aims to enhance post-crash support services. The clinic’s inauguration was officiated by Hajiya Nafisa Shehu, National President of the Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association, who highlighted the significance of this donation as part of Matrix Fertilizer’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
She emphasized that the clinic would increase access to healthcare for all, particularly road users and nearby communities.
“This giant project has come at the time when it is needed most and is in tandem with Corps Marshal’s policy thrust of creating strategic partnership that will assist in mitigating road traffic crashes.
“The facility will improve access to healthcare for motorists and the neighboring communities to enhance safety for all road users and reduce response time during emergencies,” Shehu emphasized.
ACM Pauline Olaye, Zonal Commanding Officer of RS 1, Kaduna, praised the donated clinic, stating it would aid the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in achieving its goal of reducing road crashes by five percent.
She emphasized the clinic’s importance in enhancing post-crash care and administration of road crash victims along the Kaduna-Zaria corridor.
Olaye urged other companies to follow suit, supporting FRSC’s emergency response programs. She noted that the corps is collaborating with the National Youth Service Corps and other stakeholders to staff the facility.
Earlier, Dr. Aoga Olajide, Managing Director of Matrix Fertilizer Ltd, explained that the donation was a gesture of appreciation for FRSC’s road crash response efforts, highlighting the need for a medical facility in the Dumbi area, which experiences frequent road crashes, with the nearest health center located far away in Dan Magaji, Zaria.
” It will take one about 20 minutes drive from Dumbi to Dan Magaji hence the choice of the area to site the clinic stressing that besides equipment, services would be rendered freely to road crash victims,” Olajide pointed out.
