The four family members that were abducted at Kasangwai in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State have been released after paying N8 million ransom.
Reports had it that the bandits entered the victims’ residence at Kasangwai and killed the vigilante member. They kidnapped the four family members comprising of father, mother, and two children.
The bandits requested for N30 million ransom before they set the family free.
On Tuesday, a community leader confirmed that the family was released on Sunday at Kurutu forest after the payment of N8 million ransom.
Kurutu forest shares border with Azzara village and Kagarko town. He revealed that relations of family sold some of the victim’s cow to obtain the ransom that will be used to set them free.
Also, they gave a bag of rice, Indian hemp, wines, cartons of cigarettes and cartons of cough syrups to the bandits.
