To ensure a smooth Edo State Gubernatorial election on September 21, 2024, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, has mandated the strategic placement of FRSC staff across the state.
Their task involves enforcing INEC’s vehicle movement restrictions during the election period. The Corps Marshal’s directive emphasizes collaboration with other security agencies to guarantee compliance with these restrictions, aiming to prevent disruptions to the election process and maintain road order.
The Corps Marshal also instructed the personnel to give top priority to road safety by removing obstacles, carrying out rescue missions during emergencies, and ensuring order near polling stations.
He stressed the importance of operatives being ready to promptly address any road incidents or traffic issues that may arise during the election.
To support this enforcement effort, FRSC has mobilized a significant array of operational equipment, such as vehicles, tow trucks, and ambulances.
